The home town of Fürstenberg
Anyone visiting the Black Forest should not miss the opportunity to call in on the home town of the Fürstenberg brewery.
Donaueschingen gets its name from the source of the Danube, which lies in the middle of the huge palace gardens and is the point from which the Danube begins its journey.
In addition to its long history, the residence of the Fürstenberg family also has a varied range of leisure activities to offer. In winter, you can go ice skating on the “Eiswiese”, from where the brewery once obtained the ice for its cold storage room. In summer, the 27-hole golf course and the numerous cycle and hiking paths around Donaueschingen also offer plenty of opportunities to visitors who enjoy sport.
Culture and tradition are also important in Donaueschingen. You can see this for yourself with a visit to the Fürstenberg collection or the Biedermann museum, or on a tour of the brewery itself.
Put the perfect finishing touch to the day with a delicious meal in our Bräustüble (brewery restaurant), accompanied, of course, by a freshly poured Fürstenberg.
